Laundry room Reveal

I have been wanting to re-paint my laundry room for quite some time now, and ever since we bought our front loaders last year, I have wanted them up on risers. Even for me, they are too low. So this week since I had the entire week off of work, I caught the re-decorating bug. My favorite kind of bug!!!
Here is another before shot, oak cabinets, and an ugly shade of brownish/orange paint. UGH! No more!!    DRUM ROLL PLEASE.....

My new shade, safari beige is a wonderful change! I wanted to hang a real chandelier in here, but the hubs would have been hitting his head on it for sure, so I settled for this wall one from Target! The shelf was from Zach's "before" room. Now look closely, the shelf is upside down! It wouldn't fit the other way, so I removed the 3 pegs from the bottom, now the top, and hung it upside down, and the part that prevented it from fitting is now under the cabinets!!
I made a small valance for the door, hung some photos that I took, and used my cricut to make some other vinyl wall decor.

I saw this on a web site, loved it!!
The cabinets got some new paint, as well as the hardware, my new favorite Rustoleum color is London Grey!!

And now for the best part, the built in risers that my uber talented hubby built for me!!
3 spots below for our baskets, and now we can all reach the doors without having to practically kneel on the floor!

Loving the new laundry room, now if only it had a self folding and putting away option! :)

Making a 5 year olds day!

Zach has been wanting to paint his room green for the last 6 months or so. I finally told him that durring Christmas break, we would re-do his room. He has picked out his fabric and told me exactly how he wanted his room. And the walls HAD to be Green, his favorite color. He did a great job choosing the shade of green. I love it!
He also told me that in his room he wanted trees. We looked at vinyl trees and the ones he wanted were almost $100. So I told him that I could paint the trees, he insisted on birch trees, with owls and birds, and bird nests. So I got to work!

I free handed the trees using white paint and brushed the black on with a dry brush. Then I got out my cricut and began cutting the critters!! I used a hole punch for the whites of the eyes, and black paint for the center. I also painted on a beak!

Here is hi wall full of tree's and critters, just like he wanted. Now it is time for more paint. The dresser was a freebie that just needed some new paint and hardware.

So proud! He loves to help!!
After more sewing, we were able to finish up his room!! The blanket and curtains are Riley Blake Hooty Hoot collection, my very favorite fabirc shop owner was kind enough to order this collection for me once Zach had picked it out! Thank you Janet of Hannah Johnson Fabrics!!! You are the best!!!

He had to have a real tree inhis room too, and it has real brd nests in it!!

I have one more ting to make for his room, I will post it tomorrow!!
Stay tuned this week, I also am re-doing my laundry room!!! I love Christmas break!!

Loving Riley Blake Designs!

As much as I love to sew, I am horrible at making any type of clothing, nothing ever fits right and I have a terrible time trying to alter the pattern. But when I saw this darling Riley Blake fabric out at my favorite fabric store, Hannah Johnson's. I knew I had to attempt flannel pants for me and the little boys.
I had a pattern in my Amy butler "in stitches" book for me, and I bought a Kwik sew pattern for the boys.
I must say, it wasn't too bad, and they all fit!!

I had to get this darling holiday print for me and Zach and the cute little dinosaurs for Nicholas.
They are very comfy, and I think the boys may live in them all week long!!

Now here is a sneak peak at my Christmas break project. We are painting and redecorating Zachs room and he picked out the fabric below for his bedding and curtains, the kid has good taste, it too is by Riley Blake, and fits the theme of his new room. Here is the front of the comforter I am making. This part is done, now to add the batting and back!

More to come on this room re-do in the next week or so!!
Now it's time to cozy up in my new flannel pants and watch TV!!

I love snowmen, these guys will stary out well into the new year!
I have a lot of netural decor this year, dogwood, berries, and twigs spray painted with white paint.

The kids tree all decorated and lots of presents below, it is killing them not to open!!!
