That happened to my husband and I right after Christmas. We have always had a nice bedroom, but everything was just put together, nothing matched, the bed frame was just unfinished wood (he never finished it) so when we found this king bed frame on clearance, we had to buy it. Which then caused a chain reaction of a matching dresser, end tables, bedding and room decor.... BOOM! Brand new room! Im just glad the existing paint color worked!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-SM4vjciYVdw/VrOSbUXEWqI/AAAAAAAAHOk/vLKvG8e1-aM/s1600/IMG_5634.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-SM4vjciYVdw/VrOSbUXEWqI/AAAAAAAAHOk/vLKvG8e1-aM/s640/IMG_5634.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
and before you say anything, the window behind the bed... its off center. It will become a piano window this summer! </div>

My hubby loves it when I text him things like "how big is the one wall in the yellow room" he responds with "what project am I doing now?!" <div>You see we have this spare room, I'm am sure you all know what happens in a spare room. This happens:<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-xUmsge44RK4/VpVFF9_WxcI/AAAAAAAAHG4/5Hq-8EsqBIk/s640/blogger-image-690918650.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-xUmsge44RK4/VpVFF9_WxcI/AAAAAAAAHG4/5Hq-8EsqBIk/s640/blogger-image-690918650.jpg"></a></div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">This is where I take product photos. I am constantly tripping over things and I never have enough room. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-GzF7YUFNu4Y/VpVFCwkm3zI/AAAAAAAAHGo/yIYHMwg7cJY/s640/blogger-image-1984657947.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-GzF7YUFNu4Y/VpVFCwkm3zI/AAAAAAAAHGo/yIYHMwg7cJY/s640/blogger-image-1984657947.jpg"></a></div>So Saturday I allowed myself 4 hours to de-Christmas, go through Christmas bins and purge and then empty this room! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">It's amazing what you can part with when you are in the mood! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Then my hubby went to Home Depot and bough some 1x 6 boards. I wanted the look of ship lap but not the expense! He some measuring and staring putting them up! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-b6J_89xSkWE/VpVFETcKVYI/AAAAAAAAHGw/xXU2Bkzy9wo/s640/blogger-image-18053518.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-b6J_89xSkWE/VpVFETcKVYI/AAAAAAAAHGw/xXU2Bkzy9wo/s640/blogger-image-18053518.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">He even had a little helper! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-HANRssiTTU4/VpVFKqvTgSI/AAAAAAAAHHQ/EVmBy9MokjQ/s640/blogger-image-1311504668.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-HANRssiTTU4/VpVFKqvTgSI/AAAAAAAAHHQ/EVmBy9MokjQ/s640/blogger-image-1311504668.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">After they were all up he painted the boards white. The only things that stayed up in the room were my shelves for inventory and a gift wrap area on the back of the door. Everything else is lighting equipment and props! I love the outcome! Total cost was under $100 for this wall.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-dE-LVDJ1Plw/VpVFHRY-ncI/AAAAAAAAHHA/dGo947S8Aas/s640/blogger-image-1844337144.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-dE-LVDJ1Plw/VpVFHRY-ncI/AAAAAAAAHHA/dGo947S8Aas/s640/blogger-image-1844337144.jpg"></a></div>I have so much more room for shooting and propping now! Its really 2016 and I have not blogged in months! I know I keep saying I will get better, and then life gets crazy and my poor blog is forgotten! In case you are wondering where I am these days, its over on Instagram! Personally its easier to post a quick little photo and blurb than it is to sit and blog.<br />
<br />
But there is so much I can't do there that I can do here! Many time I have so much more I want to tell or show you and I can't do it all in that tiny little photo!<br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Jf6X3K7USGI/VpAFhmi9POI/AAAAAAAAHFs/nzWjl4VqI3s/s1600/Screen%2BShot%2B2016-01-08%2Bat%2B12.52.04%2BPM.png" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="325" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Jf6X3K7USGI/VpAFhmi9POI/AAAAAAAAHFs/nzWjl4VqI3s/s400/Screen%2BShot%2B2016-01-08%2Bat%2B12.52.04%2BPM.png" width="400" /></a><br />

We are in the thick of summer and it's just flying by! I have been busy going on bike rides and out for ice cream! </span><br />
<div>

<br />
<div>
With kids now out of school, filling orders in the shop and work that I have not had a chance to update in a while here! </div>
<div>
I have been thinking of how to manage it all and have decided that July is my month to get caught up, and also to get ahead and ready for fall and winter!! The shop will remain open, however I will be having surgery mid July and will not be working on orders from July 10-27. So please plan ahead if you are buying a gift!! It kills me to say no and not be able to get things out in time! I need some recovery time and it will be great to just lay around and spend time with my kids. At least it's summer and I can spend my time in the lounge chair sippin on some iced tea! Maybe I will even read this book and become inspired to make a quilt! Maybe....The thought of making a real quilt scares me a little! </div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">

I will not be taking and external orders via email or <a href="https://instagram.com/thelittlegreenbean/" target="_blank">Instagram</a> from now until August and spots will be limited through the fall and holiday season. <br />

<div>
I was asked to create a sign that matched a wedding invitation! </div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-KDtpY3U_Dic/VUqk3hBZDPI/AAAAAAAAHBQ/VTLMXBKNTc0/s640/blogger-image-135487702.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-KDtpY3U_Dic/VUqk3hBZDPI/AAAAAAAAHBQ/VTLMXBKNTc0/s640/blogger-image-135487702.jpg" /></a></div>
This is the very bottom of the invitation. </div>
<div>
So first I got to work on making the sign. </div>
<div>
Stained the wood and then painted antlers in place. </div>
<div>
Once everything was dry I distressed and sealed it. </div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-8PUaLe81Ui0/VUqk4xOo_2I/AAAAAAAAHBY/GkETBuaypaI/s640/blogger-image--6269247.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-8PUaLe81Ui0/VUqk4xOo_2I/AAAAAAAAHBY/GkETBuaypaI/s640/blogger-image--6269247.jpg" /></a></div>
Now it's time for the fun stuff! </div>
<div>
Dye the burlap! Today I used Rit dye in petal pink and tangerine. </div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-YLUzmGkMpNI/VUqk2e8wXoI/AAAAAAAAHBI/fn7OEP8ReiI/s640/blogger-image-562772794.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-YLUzmGkMpNI/VUqk2e8wXoI/AAAAAAAAHBI/fn7OEP8ReiI/s640/blogger-image-562772794.jpg" /></a></div>
I mixed in a small sink wash tub, but a sink or bucket would do the trick! </div>
<div>
I added 3 cap - fulls of the pink and 1 tangerine. I know, very technical. I cook this way too, sometimes it works, other times we have cereal. </div>
<div>
Next, add the white burlap to the dye bath and check every minute or so until it's your desired color. Once you have the color you want, ring it out and hang to </div>
<div>
dry. I lucked out and had a nice sunny day so my burlap dried very fast! </div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-SeoMaFMnAbo/VUqk6LPAuuI/AAAAAAAAHBg/YfHzhfzweSs/s640/blogger-image-1405384728.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-SeoMaFMnAbo/VUqk6LPAuuI/AAAAAAAAHBg/YfHzhfzweSs/s640/blogger-image-1405384728.jpg" /></a></div>
Once dry it was ready to make flowers! </div>
<div>
I cut 1" strips and twisted and glued until I had all the flowers I needed.<br />
I used apple green for the leaves. Such a pretty color! </div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-isK391fxO4s/VUqk7TrhD5I/AAAAAAAAHBo/HpiqTIrlrLs/s640/blogger-image-251095230.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-isK391fxO4s/VUqk7TrhD5I/AAAAAAAAHBo/HpiqTIrlrLs/s640/blogger-image-251095230.jpg" /></a></div>
</div>
<div>
Then simply glued them into place! </div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-HEP7t_732NE/VUqk8iTYaUI/AAAAAAAAHBw/XxaxhcX89Uc/s640/blogger-image--32820375.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-HEP7t_732NE/VUqk8iTYaUI/AAAAAAAAHBw/XxaxhcX89Uc/s640/blogger-image--32820375.jpg" /></a></div>
Here is the finished sign! What a fun gift! I hope the love it as much as I loved making it! </div>
<div>
Now go buy some Rit dye! It's awesome! </div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-8XBSg2Vd06k/VT5vd91lGwI/AAAAAAAAHAc/_KWX69YKUgQ/s640/blogger-image--678246907.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-8XBSg2Vd06k/VT5vd91lGwI/AAAAAAAAHAc/_KWX69YKUgQ/s640/blogger-image--678246907.jpg" /></a></div>
As I have been working on scrap maps I had an idea for a frame. My parents had a very old barn that my husband resided. So of course I insisted that he keep all the barn wood. It's like pure gold!<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This weekend he made a frame from the wood for one of my scrap maps! The map is made with a moda fabric kit quilted onto a burlap background. . </div>
<div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I love the colors and how amazing they look with the wood! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-z5lGGI0Awq0/VT5vbaKNV_I/AAAAAAAAHAU/iFJjkTz1vE4/s640/blogger-image-39692854.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-z5lGGI0Awq0/VT5vbaKNV_I/AAAAAAAAHAU/iFJjkTz1vE4/s640/blogger-image-39692854.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
The layers of chippy paint, the natural weather to the wood! It's just perfect!! I am not sure if I can part with this one! How many maps can I hang in my house?<br />
<br />
Happy Monday friends! </div>

I decided to do an updated post on how to make fabric mini bolts! <div>I have become quite the fabric collector over the last few years and when I'm not careful I end up with piles like this: </div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Uw8VVPDfqPQ/VTmctKQJpCI/AAAAAAAAG_I/dJAbrx_zHPk/s640/blogger-image-531636941.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Uw8VVPDfqPQ/VTmctKQJpCI/AAAAAAAAG_I/dJAbrx_zHPk/s640/blogger-image-531636941.jpg"></a></div>So before I let the fabric take over my room I made mini bolts using foam core. </div><div>I bought a bunch of standard size boards all in white. One board will get you 8 mini bolts. I <span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">cut them down to 7.5" x 10".<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-jQaipxW8jBo/VTmcm39BFwI/AAAAAAAAG-g/zgTXfNOk8pI/s640/blogger-image-629769193.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-jQaipxW8jBo/VTmcm39BFwI/AAAAAAAAG-g/zgTXfNOk8pI/s640/blogger-image-629769193.jpg"></a></div></span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">You will also need long quilting pins. The small ones bend really easy. I fold each piece of fabric lengthwise and then into 3rds. <div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-LP1A63d5jac/VTmcrz0oNBI/AAAAAAAAG_A/QtiSPV2DX6o/s640/blogger-image--861662691.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-LP1A63d5jac/VTmcrz0oNBI/AAAAAAAAG_A/QtiSPV2DX6o/s640/blogger-image--861662691.jpg"></a></div> I can wrap anywhere from 1/2 yard to 3 yards on one bolt. </span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Begin by wrapping one end onto the bolt. </span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-cbzWbbfoCnE/VTmcvpy9M1I/AAAAAAAAG_Y/w6By2N1NPC0/s640/blogger-image-690948928.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-cbzWbbfoCnE/VTmcvpy9M1I/AAAAAAAAG_Y/w6By2N1NPC0/s640/blogger-image-690948928.jpg"></a></div>Continue tonwrapmuntil you get the end of your fabric. </span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Fold over the end to form a triangle.</span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-V3xUhCLK4sM/VTmcpXZjWvI/AAAAAAAAG-w/JADoCLtgoPo/s640/blogger-image--1760677489.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-V3xUhCLK4sM/VTmcpXZjWvI/AAAAAAAAG-w/JADoCLtgoPo/s640/blogger-image--1760677489.jpg"></a></div> Fold over the edge and insert a pin to hold it into the bolt. </span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-TOb0BYCc2yk/VTmcwpKIZjI/AAAAAAAAG_g/jIhjFipvwz0/s640/blogger-image--1765737082.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-TOb0BYCc2yk/VTmcwpKIZjI/AAAAAAAAG_g/jIhjFipvwz0/s640/blogger-image--1765737082.jpg"></a></div>You may need 2 depending on how wide the triangle is. </span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">That's it! They are so easy and store your fabric so neatly. </span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-cHEXhPiZXjo/VTmjifnbAYI/AAAAAAAAG_8/b1W8UXzNql4/s640/blogger-image-1672878322.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-cHEXhPiZXjo/VTmjifnbAYI/AAAAAAAAG_8/b1W8UXzNql4/s640/blogger-image-1672878322.jpg"></a></div><br></div>This is a cubby from target meant for a kids room, it works perfectly and was rather inexpensive. </span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">I also have a cabinet that my hubby built years ago for me. </span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-ytSgv1Xkt18/VTmcqYil2AI/AAAAAAAAG-4/fs_1ha8FrZs/s640/blogger-image--761121881.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-ytSgv1Xkt18/VTmcqYil2AI/AAAAAAAAG-4/fs_1ha8FrZs/s640/blogger-image--761121881.jpg"></a></div>I keep all my fabric organized by color to make it look pretty and it's easy to find! </span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Now for the scraps. They all use to be in one large bin. But I have recently bought this great cabinet at wal mart and some great bins from Hobby Lobby to sort all of my scraps by color. It works great and I use more scraps now that they are organized and out in the open! </span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-JoLt1h5g5Mw/VTmcuQHuQYI/AAAAAAAAG_Q/zsjqEZ2mcJM/s640/blogger-image-612440129.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-JoLt1h5g5Mw/VTmcuQHuQYI/AAAAAAAAG_Q/zsjqEZ2mcJM/s640/blogger-image-612440129.jpg"></a></div>I hope that answers all of your questions on the mini bolts! If not feel free to message me and ask! </span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><br></span></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18239728096405991206noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4644413933062421452.post-23211506816054821562015-04-13T08:46:00.001-07:002015-04-13T08:51:09.166-07:00Hand painted wood signsNow that it's finally warming up I can work in the garage again! This weekend I took full advantage of the warm sunshine and worked on some new wood signs.<br />
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-FsKaEipccVQ/VSvk4X5hJBI/AAAAAAAAG-A/Y7lKij4Glro/s640/blogger-image--1803742050.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-FsKaEipccVQ/VSvk4X5hJBI/AAAAAAAAG-A/Y7lKij4Glro/s640/blogger-image--1803742050.jpg" /></a></div>
<div>
My mom owns a green house and is making a gift shop this year!<br />
</div>
</div>
<div>
I love to paint signs and this was a great reason to do so! Each sign is hand painted with decor arts chalk paint. I really love the finish of their paint and wax. I also stain some of the wood and distress with a palm sander. I use my silhouette cameo machine to make all of my stencils.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This guy above is pained onto a reclaimed wood pallet board. I am in love with how it turned out. I may just have to keep this one for myself!<br />
<br /></div>
<div>
I have several others that I am working on and wanted to share a few with you. </div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-epKcM1TKN9Q/VSvj5vj9wJI/AAAAAAAAG9w/2hegq6darLo/s640/blogger-image-225280541.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-epKcM1TKN9Q/VSvj5vj9wJI/AAAAAAAAG9w/2hegq6darLo/s640/blogger-image-225280541.jpg" /></a></div>
I added burlap flowers that I used my sizzix to cut out. I sewed cute little buttons in the center and glued them in place. </div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-Ylm5N6pkzU8/VSvk5UkfBzI/AAAAAAAAG-I/ywOW8gJjbvA/s640/blogger-image--1823004050.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-Ylm5N6pkzU8/VSvk5UkfBzI/AAAAAAAAG-I/ywOW8gJjbvA/s640/blogger-image--1823004050.jpg" /></a></div>
I really love mixed media, so I am working on adding in different elements to each sign. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-cULqIJizkCM/VSvj6tG9cRI/AAAAAAAAG94/n4DyL3lNgLw/s640/blogger-image-1992665092.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-cULqIJizkCM/VSvj6tG9cRI/AAAAAAAAG94/n4DyL3lNgLw/s640/blogger-image-1992665092.jpg" /></a></div>
More to come later this week and if they do well, I may just have to add some to the shop!! <br />
Thanks so much for stopping by! </div>

The sun is shining and I hear robins singing!<br />
So it's really no secret that I love to dye burlap! I use the liquid rit dye and it's so easy!<br />
<div>
You can make any color you want! </div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-ZOhElB7i90A/VSfmjoaH54I/AAAAAAAAG9M/tQiel-XxUAI/s640/blogger-image-1946712477.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-ZOhElB7i90A/VSfmjoaH54I/AAAAAAAAG9M/tQiel-XxUAI/s640/blogger-image-1946712477.jpg" /></a></div>
</div>
<div>
Today I'm going to make coral. I simply did this in a washtub in my craft room. </div>
<div>
I used Ivory burlap to start. </div>
<div>
Mix 1 tablespoon of tangerine and 1/2 tablespoon of scarlet into hot water. Remember, the more water you add the lighter the the color will be. </div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-c877kgCvMCw/VSfmceuizRI/AAAAAAAAG8c/Q2TrGHZUmxY/s640/blogger-image--1599505403.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-c877kgCvMCw/VSfmceuizRI/AAAAAAAAG8c/Q2TrGHZUmxY/s640/blogger-image--1599505403.jpg" /></a></div>
Add your burlap, and let soak. Stir it around a bit and continue to check the color often. The longer it soaks the darker it will get! </div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-WfgTSC16emA/VSfmlAxfg0I/AAAAAAAAG9U/ehyoUqEwQK4/s640/blogger-image--623709932.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-WfgTSC16emA/VSfmlAxfg0I/AAAAAAAAG9U/ehyoUqEwQK4/s640/blogger-image--623709932.jpg" /></a></div>
Once you have your desired color remove from the water and wring it out well. Depending on how much color you have added you may want to wear gloves so you don't stain your hands! </div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-tuDlBpEYNC0/VSfmhEY7MvI/AAAAAAAAG88/mYTiDPDJNiw/s640/blogger-image--773146763.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-tuDlBpEYNC0/VSfmhEY7MvI/AAAAAAAAG88/mYTiDPDJNiw/s640/blogger-image--773146763.jpg" /></a></div>
The color will get lighter as it dries. I did 3 different shades. I used the same batch of dye, I just added a little more color to deepen the shade. </div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-DPsX_CSCTKw/VSfmivIY_5I/AAAAAAAAG9E/1Q6pq_u1QCc/s640/blogger-image-524052633.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-DPsX_CSCTKw/VSfmivIY_5I/AAAAAAAAG9E/1Q6pq_u1QCc/s640/blogger-image-524052633.jpg" /></a></div>
Now is the toughest part, waiting for it to dry!!<br />
I have this awesome metal shoe rack from Amazon that works great to dry fabric in front of my fireplace! </div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-o6QdQ5tK1P4/VSfmf4GbVtI/AAAAAAAAG80/lod0mA9txcQ/s640/blogger-image--1481232996.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-o6QdQ5tK1P4/VSfmf4GbVtI/AAAAAAAAG80/lod0mA9txcQ/s640/blogger-image--1481232996.jpg" /></a></div>
Here are the 3 colors all dry. So yummy! </div>
<div>
Now you're set to create your fun project! </div>
<div>
I made flowers for a pillow!</div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-zZk0znm5xtg/VSfme8Aa44I/AAAAAAAAG8s/Z5jKqdlX85w/s640/blogger-image--731932531.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-zZk0znm5xtg/VSfme8Aa44I/AAAAAAAAG8s/Z5jKqdlX85w/s640/blogger-image--731932531.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-abAZ3R-T8ME/VSfmmYn931I/AAAAAAAAG9c/7b-9jbb_hnA/s640/blogger-image--1527860481.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-abAZ3R-T8ME/VSfmmYn931I/AAAAAAAAG9c/7b-9jbb_hnA/s640/blogger-image--1527860481.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-gekb_YCA13Y/VSfmdtuwIKI/AAAAAAAAG8k/FdBZgOMEVRI/s640/blogger-image-421788319.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-gekb_YCA13Y/VSfmdtuwIKI/AAAAAAAAG8k/FdBZgOMEVRI/s640/blogger-image-421788319.jpg" /></a></div>
</div>
<div>
Now you have the entire weekend to go & play with some Rit dye and burlap!!<br />
Have fun! </div>

The rain today is a sure sign, now if only it would warm up!!<br />
<div>
I have been working on a lot of maps these days, but also some fun burlap daffodils and bunnies! </div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-gaOiJMuAtfs/VSVqeO-09MI/AAAAAAAAG8I/eh2uneVaP5U/s640/blogger-image--1578296273.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-gaOiJMuAtfs/VSVqeO-09MI/AAAAAAAAG8I/eh2uneVaP5U/s640/blogger-image--1578296273.jpg" /></a></div>
These were a little tedious but so much fun! </div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-TRErgS-JKg8/VSVqWt4gZ_I/AAAAAAAAG7o/95OAAIGpNV4/s640/blogger-image-1901646484.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-TRErgS-JKg8/VSVqWt4gZ_I/AAAAAAAAG7o/95OAAIGpNV4/s640/blogger-image-1901646484.jpg" /></a></div>
First I made the pompoms from a thick wool yarn. They fluffed up as soon as I started cutting! For the large pompom I wrapped the yarn around my hand! It worked great, just take of your rings! Ha!! </div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-6-0WSgXp7tw/VSVqaXlER1I/AAAAAAAAG74/Lk1iOKI7reI/s640/blogger-image--1114230315.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-6-0WSgXp7tw/VSVqaXlER1I/AAAAAAAAG74/Lk1iOKI7reI/s640/blogger-image--1114230315.jpg" /></a></div>
For the daffodils I used rit dye to dye the burlap yellow. Burlap dyes beautifully! I just do it right in the sink!<br />
For the Orange centers I simply added some liquid dye to water in a spray bottle and sprayed until I got the desired color. </div>
<div>
I cut 6 petals and sewed them together with embroidery floss. I glued the center in place and made stems from floral pics and green burlap. </div>
<div>

To assemble I added a styrofoam ball inside a 4" pot. I used a dowel rod and inserted it into the large pompom and stuck into the ball. I arranged the flowers and then covered with spanish moss. They were so fun to finish up and will look great in my window all spring! </div>

I have been thinking a lot lately about my shop and where it's headed & after a lot of consideration and really evaluating my shop, I have decided to change my focus and put more effort into the the items I really enjoy making and that perform really well.<br />
<br />
I love to create, so sometimes I go gang busters and make 10-15 new items and fond that I really could have made 3-4 and that would have been ok!<br />
<br />
I have changed some of my processes and my focus.<br />
<br />
So my trials and errors are your gain! I have decided to have a big clean up sale!<br />
All the items in my sale area are in stock and there is only 1 available!<br />
Once they are gone, thats it! Some other items in my shop are simply going to be deleted.<br />
<br />
I want to offer the best of my products, the ones I truly get excited to make every time I get an order.<br />
<br />
<br />

<div>
I decided to try making one myself for my craft room. I have so many pieces of scrap fabric I figured this would be a great way to use them! I just pulled from the bin, 50 different pieces to use! It was so hard to resist the urge to coordinate it all.</div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-lx6wPBZQLmY/VNz0nC-zSkI/AAAAAAAAG4k/Flwv_fRCcdY/s640/blogger-image--1888161086.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-lx6wPBZQLmY/VNz0nC-zSkI/AAAAAAAAG4k/Flwv_fRCcdY/s640/blogger-image--1888161086.jpg" /></a></div>
</div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">First I downloaded the states from <a href="http://www.dreamalittlebigger.com/post/silhouette-state-cut-files.html" target="_blank">Dream a little bigger </a> she has each state ready to download and import into the silhouette!! </span></div>
<div>
You can then cut them out using your silhouette cameo machine! </div>
<div>
I couldn't decide exactly how I wanted to do this so I tried cutting the fabric with the silhouette directly first. </div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-TVzfSPvURxg/VNz0jaLmK7I/AAAAAAAAG4U/bgKsY5eSyAo/s640/blogger-image--1476751331.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-TVzfSPvURxg/VNz0jaLmK7I/AAAAAAAAG4U/bgKsY5eSyAo/s640/blogger-image--1476751331.jpg" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The only problem with this is it was very tedious to cut each scrap to fit the state and then arrange them all the right way on the mat. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Next try- cut the states out of heat n bond, iron onto fabric and hand cut! That worked! </div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XfiJIHwrS00/VNz0rICWzkI/AAAAAAAAG40/jHecWtbsdNw/s640/blogger-image-145112922.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XfiJIHwrS00/VNz0rICWzkI/AAAAAAAAG40/jHecWtbsdNw/s640/blogger-image-145112922.jpg" /></a></div>
That went much quicker!! Now I will tell you, the states are not all the right size. Most of the east coast is too big, you will need to re size them before you cut! See New Jersey here, way to big! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Once I had all my shapes sized to fit like a puzzle & cut out, I appliquéd them to the burlap! </div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-_wepWe0CnHM/VNz0fRwozTI/AAAAAAAAG4E/oQxbkXx6A1c/s640/blogger-image--689118569.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-_wepWe0CnHM/VNz0fRwozTI/AAAAAAAAG4E/oQxbkXx6A1c/s640/blogger-image--689118569.jpg" /></a></div>
Next up, the sewing. I did not want this to be super perfect. I call it intentionally messy! Zig zags and straight stitch! I used black thread and simply started sewing. </div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-pStaT6f6EGI/VNz0lfJ9uxI/AAAAAAAAG4c/28xflr96bwg/s640/blogger-image--1731477115.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-pStaT6f6EGI/VNz0lfJ9uxI/AAAAAAAAG4c/28xflr96bwg/s400/blogger-image--1731477115.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
This took a lot less time than I thought it would! And I just love the result!!</div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-kecIx12iB-k/VNz0hZ7pmnI/AAAAAAAAG4M/B6vyHyT1JDM/s640/blogger-image--1324294526.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-kecIx12iB-k/VNz0hZ7pmnI/AAAAAAAAG4M/B6vyHyT1JDM/s640/blogger-image--1324294526.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-OZDDpkjzZnA/VNz0pHRLafI/AAAAAAAAG4s/rdnyIw8FL-A/s640/blogger-image-156992215.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-OZDDpkjzZnA/VNz0pHRLafI/AAAAAAAAG4s/rdnyIw8FL-A/s640/blogger-image-156992215.jpg" /></a></div>
Tonight I'll be mounting it and finishing the edge! I can't decide, scrap edge or fray the burlap?!</div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-IAMq2mVBKwQ/VNz0s861U2I/AAAAAAAAG48/1KNZAmhtbcE/s640/blogger-image-1500932626.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-IAMq2mVBKwQ/VNz0s861U2I/AAAAAAAAG48/1KNZAmhtbcE/s640/blogger-image-1500932626.jpg" /></a></div>
I can't wait to hang it in my room!! I do plan to mount it to a painted board and hang on the wall. There are so many ways you could do it!<br />
<br />
I will also be adding this to my shop in March after I get back from a much need week in the Dominican!!! Stay tuned!<br />
<br />
You can follow The little Green Bean on <a href="http://instagram.com/thelittlegreenbean/" target="_blank">instagram</a> for updates on the maps, and so much more!<br />
<br />
Happy Thursday!</div>

I have cleaned out so many spaces in my home and gotten rid of a ton of stuff! It feels great and should have been done years ago!! This weekend the kids and I tackled a closet. This area used to be an entry way to the home. Once we added on, the closet became a catch all. <div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-tNpdQhQX3TQ/VMfYJA_gYaI/AAAAAAAAG2Y/RSHEu9ucoz0/s640/blogger-image-647992300.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-tNpdQhQX3TQ/VMfYJA_gYaI/AAAAAAAAG2Y/RSHEu9ucoz0/s640/blogger-image-647992300.jpg"></a></div>So we emptied it out and I made an office for my hubby!! </div><div>The kids helped remove old wall paper. And we peeped the walls for paint!</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-nNQDiGyAzG0/VMfX8e6-VII/AAAAAAAAG2A/U91tvMybk9A/s640/blogger-image-1630189661.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-nNQDiGyAzG0/VMfX8e6-VII/AAAAAAAAG2A/U91tvMybk9A/s640/blogger-image-1630189661.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-a0M_ee_4YWg/VMfXxWOxZRI/AAAAAAAAG1Y/kcwsUSOTC_k/s640/blogger-image--1899101376.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-a0M_ee_4YWg/VMfXxWOxZRI/AAAAAAAAG1Y/kcwsUSOTC_k/s640/blogger-image--1899101376.jpg"></a></div>Removing the wall paper made me so glad we hung it properly! It was so easy! </div><div>The space is quite small so I wanted to keep it neutral and functional!</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-5-2T9sDrBDY/VMfX3Um0D4I/AAAAAAAAG1w/3Y15k1-ysus/s640/blogger-image--32457736.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-5-2T9sDrBDY/VMfX3Um0D4I/AAAAAAAAG1w/3Y15k1-ysus/s640/blogger-image--32457736.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">This mirror was glued to the wall and I didn't even want to attempt removing it for fear of a giant hole in the wall. What can I say, I love my space! I also love to share and hope that it inspires even 1 person! I have an amazing room thanks to my hubby, he owns his own construction company and he really can build anything! So 1 1/2 yrs ago when I decided I needed him to remove a wall to join 2 rooms and make my room bigger, he didn't even argue! (yes he is a saint!) When we did that re model the room was primarily gray, and while I love neutral, after some time it was just OK.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yl3rMLUMNhQ/VL3i4v1Zq8I/AAAAAAAAGzI/9NV95H4eq-Q/s1600/untitled-4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yl3rMLUMNhQ/VL3i4v1Zq8I/AAAAAAAAGzI/9NV95H4eq-Q/s1600/untitled-4.jpg" height="265" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Something else I realized was it just wasn't as efficient as it could be. I had items out all the time that I rarely used and things shoved n drawers and cabinets that I forgot I had and bought more of! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It was time for a change! I was going to add some color, clean, purge & re-organize! And then I did just that! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here is what I new for sure; </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I wanted red and aqua accents. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I wanted clear containers</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I wanted more shelves for the walls to hold the clear containers</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I needed more fabric storage (a lot was in a cubby)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I wanted more of what I love in this room</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So I spent one Saturday afternoon shopping like it was my job. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Target, Hobby Lobby & TjMAXX received a lot of my money that day! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After cleaning, painting and a lot of re thinking my placement here is where I landed:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Bqsu6f_PXas/VL3jcmcvvlI/AAAAAAAAG0A/uso9-xY8xF4/s1600/untitled-3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Bqsu6f_PXas/VL3jcmcvvlI/AAAAAAAAG0A/uso9-xY8xF4/s1600/untitled-3.jpg" height="265" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The walls are all the same gray color, but I used a wall stencil & some aqua paint to add the design! </div>

<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">I found these amazing letters on clearance for $4 each. Originally $35! </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-st3SYKgK8zw/VLxdIjqV11I/AAAAAAAAGyQ/0RRLgckJgTc/s640/blogger-image--615971570.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-st3SYKgK8zw/VLxdIjqV11I/AAAAAAAAGyQ/0RRLgckJgTc/s640/blogger-image--615971570.jpg" /></a></div>
There was just one problem, I couldn't find and E. Could be why they were on clearance! Ha! I figured I could find one online somewhere, so I bought my L,O,V letters. Well I found several "E" letters online. Even the one that matched this set. It was $40. After getting the other 3 so cheap I didn't want to spend that much on one. I decided to try and make one!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-WNXW2x01Y1o/VLxdKAw3nbI/AAAAAAAAGyY/RCdKxj1k3_k/s640/blogger-image-774742352.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-WNXW2x01Y1o/VLxdKAw3nbI/AAAAAAAAGyY/RCdKxj1k3_k/s640/blogger-image-774742352.jpg" /></a></div>
I used a priority mail box, a ruler, xacto knife and a marker.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I used the L as my template. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-Q7VZREXpdHw/VLxdQw3tCSI/AAAAAAAAGy4/UmJdwjlVAzE/s640/blogger-image--1489098800.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-Q7VZREXpdHw/VLxdQw3tCSI/AAAAAAAAGy4/UmJdwjlVAzE/s640/blogger-image--1489098800.jpg" /></a></div>
Pretty so I had an E! I wanted the metal underneath so I could distress it like the metal l<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">etters. </span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-QJhh3smx0Qo/VLxdLn-iyRI/AAAAAAAAGyg/1B2pQlpaNo0/s640/blogger-image-309559353.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-QJhh3smx0Qo/VLxdLn-iyRI/AAAAAAAAGyg/1B2pQlpaNo0/s640/blogger-image-309559353.jpg" /></a></span></div>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">I started with my rustoleum metallic silver paint. 2 coats because I was painting on cardboard and I wanted to distress without showing cardboard. </span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Next I sprayed on 2 coats of red. I waited very impatient as they dried. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-hwNauuCF6O0/VLxdFSd1cfI/AAAAAAAAGyA/bYpOSxNqhDg/s640/blogger-image--1555651550.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-hwNauuCF6O0/VLxdFSd1cfI/AAAAAAAAGyA/bYpOSxNqhDg/s640/blogger-image--1555651550.jpg" /></a></span></div>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">I did add a coat of the red to the front of the metal letters. The color was close but not quite the same. </span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Once the letter was try I lightly sanded the edges and then added some clear coat. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-bdUvoIwYxHs/VLxdN42KokI/AAAAAAAAGyo/7dkPY-h_ulk/s640/blogger-image-621608386.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-bdUvoIwYxHs/VLxdN42KokI/AAAAAAAAGyo/7dkPY-h_ulk/s640/blogger-image-621608386.jpg" /></a></span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-0FFbuzq2aEo/VLxdG25ComI/AAAAAAAAGyI/YClAMe8Ru3c/s640/blogger-image--1710090291.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-0FFbuzq2aEo/VLxdG25ComI/AAAAAAAAGyI/YClAMe8Ru3c/s640/blogger-image--1710090291.jpg" /></a></span></div>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">The sanding worked! It totally looks like metal!! </span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue Light, HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">I am so excited about my letters! </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue Light, HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue Light, HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-HdsmDBMzUKA/VLxdPqf-NhI/AAAAAAAAGyw/SoPzZznhJN4/s640/blogger-image-2118621706.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-HdsmDBMzUKA/VLxdPqf-NhI/AAAAAAAAGyw/SoPzZznhJN4/s640/blogger-image-2118621706.jpg" /></a></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue Light, HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">I wasn't sure if it would work, but looking at them all together you really can not see a difference! Good enough for me! </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">

There is never enough room! So I made one and I'm going to show you how! It's very easy! <div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-zb1qXNyfjhs/VLqShSjshzI/AAAAAAAAGxo/xkSG03wHhsw/s640/blogger-image-1668264837.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-zb1qXNyfjhs/VLqShSjshzI/AAAAAAAAGxo/xkSG03wHhsw/s640/blogger-image-1668264837.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Here is the shopping list: </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">3/4" plywood cut to size</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Metal wall anchors </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Heavy duty shelf brackets </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Batting </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Old sheet or plain fabric </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Fabric for cover</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Elastic</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">The great news is you really only need a stapler and screw gun to do this! </span></div></div><div>Home Depot sells many sizes of plywood pre cut and if they don't have what you need they will cut it for you! I would use at least 3/4" thick wood. </div><div>You will also need heavy duty shelf brackets and metal screw anchors if you're not going into wall studs. Don't bother with the plastic ones! </div><div>Measure and attach your brackets to the wall. We made sure to go right into studs! </div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/--s0c6fgsLFQ/VLqSWLhik9I/AAAAAAAAGxY/4vZd-vlcGaI/s640/blogger-image-1705170495.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/--s0c6fgsLFQ/VLqSWLhik9I/AAAAAAAAGxY/4vZd-vlcGaI/s640/blogger-image-1705170495.jpg"></a></div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">My board is 6 ft long so we used 4 shelf brackets. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Next add the batting ( I used 2 layers) to the top & sides of the board. Simply lay it on top and fold over the sides. Secure it to the under side using a stapler. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-9AYIcRpq3M8/VLqSAzlavYI/AAAAAAAAGww/487S0yRq1bM/s640/blogger-image-1674234502.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-9AYIcRpq3M8/VLqSAzlavYI/AAAAAAAAGww/487S0yRq1bM/s640/blogger-image-1674234502.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Next I add a fabric layer. I used an old sheet. There is something to the new year and an overwhelming feeling to clean, purge and re-organize! This year has been no exception for me! After the holidays, my craft room needs a serious deep cleaning! I try to stay organized as I go, but when things get crazy, that is the first thing to go for me!<br />
I love my craft room, it is my happy place. When I walk in usually I feel inspired! I don't know if this year was different because I had been there so much or if my neutral room was just too neutral.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LgMOBkQ6WAw/VLgGgKC4C6I/AAAAAAAAGv4/4wvgk-WL0OI/s1600/untitled-4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LgMOBkQ6WAw/VLgGgKC4C6I/AAAAAAAAGv4/4wvgk-WL0OI/s1600/untitled-4.jpg" height="266" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have an amazing space but It was lacking some color! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I had been thinking about new curtains, and then last week I found this:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Jz2uPtYL3Gg/VLgHl_T5vtI/AAAAAAAAGwI/yLaJdxXiPFQ/s1600/1419998202_r_t_c_2015_downmagaz.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Jz2uPtYL3Gg/VLgHl_T5vtI/AAAAAAAAGwI/yLaJdxXiPFQ/s1600/1419998202_r_t_c_2015_downmagaz.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Have you picked up this amazing new magazine yet? After I read it cover to cover I was so inspired! So first I cleaned and organized a ton!<br />
And then I shopped like it was my job!!<br />
I found the most amazing pieces!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YRIDLVFzM6o/VLgIbVPD6HI/AAAAAAAAGwQ/VJzSGiwQpcg/s1600/Screen%2BShot%2B2015-01-15%2Bat%2B12.34.08%2BPM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YRIDLVFzM6o/VLgIbVPD6HI/AAAAAAAAGwQ/VJzSGiwQpcg/s1600/Screen%2BShot%2B2015-01-15%2Bat%2B12.34.08%2BPM.png" height="370" width="400" /></a></div>

<br />
And a sneak peak as to where I am going! I can tell you now that I walk into this room and immediately feel inspired and happy! Color adds so much to a space. More to come this week, just a few final touches left and I can do a complete room reveal!<br />

I will craft more, I will send more time with my family, I will plan and cook healthier meals. Well the reality is life is busy, crazy some days and most of the time, weeks, months fly by and before we know it its another new year and we are making resolutions we won't keep. Why don't we keep them? Because we don't make a plan.<br />
<br />
I always have great plans & ideas in my head & all those things I want to make that I saw on pinterest! But then & all too often, after some time goes by and life gets busy, I forget all the things I wanted to do. I realized I never really made a plan to do the things I wanted to do, needed to do in order to grow!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-l_MqcfwF3Dc/VK3KMDBN-XI/AAAAAAAAGvQ/sKTI9kQ_T1A/s1600/ba1dc8d1235f073a71d116324d4c97e9.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-l_MqcfwF3Dc/VK3KMDBN-XI/AAAAAAAAGvQ/sKTI9kQ_T1A/s1600/ba1dc8d1235f073a71d116324d4c97e9.jpg" height="400" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So this year I was serious about making a plan. I was not just going to think about what I wanted to do with my business and hope it would happen. I had to make a plan!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The first thing I did, I bought a planner and a notebook. I use this strictly for my business goals. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The second thing I did, I opened them up and I wrote in them! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-nJhHTWReisM/VK3KNIMxJNI/AAAAAAAAGvc/3xvPxhIjpVA/s1600/Screen%2BShot%2B2015-01-07%2Bat%2B6.00.26%2BPM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-nJhHTWReisM/VK3KNIMxJNI/AAAAAAAAGvc/3xvPxhIjpVA/s1600/Screen%2BShot%2B2015-01-07%2Bat%2B6.00.26%2BPM.png" height="400" width="397" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I know how easy it is to have great intentions, you are motivated & full of ideas so you run out to the store and buy the cutest darn planner ever bring it home and watch it collect dust. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have done that more than once. Not this year. I am making some changes! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So I decided that on my lunch hour at work I would work on me, and my business. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I leave the office and site at a little shake shop, drink my healthy lunch and work on my plan! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Step 1</b>-<i>Identify your goals</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Create a realistic list of what you really want to accomplish. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Keep it to 4-6 things</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Step 2</b>. <i>Make a plan</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
How are you going to accomplish those goals? </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Break it down and really think about what it will take to get you where you want to be!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Goals that are too big become overwhelming, start small and get bigger.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Step 3.</b> <i>Write it on the calendar, schedule it!</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Make sure you schedule things for when you can realistically work on them.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I know my lunch hour is a great time to GSD (get shit done)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
But before I get to the lunch hour, I already know what I will work on, because I created a plan! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I write down exactly what I am going to do and how much time I am allowing myself. If you give yourself 20 minutes, stick to it. If you find that it was not enough, simply adjust for the next time. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>You are much more likely to accomplish your goals if you write them down! </b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I can't tell you enough how good it feels to look at the list all crossed off once its complete! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3twZ60yWOwU/VK3KNLlj1CI/AAAAAAAAGvg/IDALObp8DGs/s1600/d7f90ae15bc5662607c660206871bcc0.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3twZ60yWOwU/VK3KNLlj1CI/AAAAAAAAGvg/IDALObp8DGs/s1600/d7f90ae15bc5662607c660206871bcc0.jpg" height="400" width="287" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is so true! There is something to this that makes your goals feel more like a commitment! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Step 4. </b><i>Use the planner every day!</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It takes 28 days to create a habit, I find that even after a week it is easier. Change takes time and success doesn't happen overnight. Don't be too tough on yourself. You will slip up, you will forget and something will always get in the way. But just get back to it the next day and before you know you won't know what you did before! I never used to keep a planner and now I am lost without it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
If ever I find myself feeling so overwhelmed I can't get a thing done (which can be often) I stop and make a list. It makes me feel better almost immediately! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-OHimKh6S05o/VK3KLoj6IKI/AAAAAAAAGvM/5ejyA75QJqg/s1600/43104fb3c1da38722e37eef7874a0f5f.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-OHimKh6S05o/VK3KLoj6IKI/AAAAAAAAGvM/5ejyA75QJqg/s1600/43104fb3c1da38722e37eef7874a0f5f.jpg" height="400" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I am so excited about 2015 and what is to come but know that I will never be where I hope to be without a plan. The first week is the toughest. Be true to who you are and where you want to go! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I would LOVE to hear your goals, planning ideas and success stories! Please share! </div>

He didn't seem to care! That's an 11 yr old boy for ya! He's not into sports or any characters so I found some things we boy liked on Pinterest and went from there. My only requirement was the brick wall my husband and I hand painted years ago had to stay! <div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-TxxLmYk16XU/VKx-yh6YNQI/AAAAAAAAGuM/r_Q39YUVgak/s640/blogger-image--615068426.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-TxxLmYk16XU/VKx-yh6YNQI/AAAAAAAAGuM/r_Q39YUVgak/s640/blogger-image--615068426.jpg"></a></div><div>We picked out paint, bedding and lots of great room decor from Hobby Lobby! They really have some amazing pieces! </div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-97okP882gZ8/VKx_Jrm6r1I/AAAAAAAAGuk/Gyz09YNOjlk/s640/blogger-image--1064831191.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-97okP882gZ8/VKx_Jrm6r1I/AAAAAAAAGuk/Gyz09YNOjlk/s640/blogger-image--1064831191.jpg"></a></div>He wanted blue and gray on the other walls. His bedding is from Target. He liked the blue and red and I was able to use the extra pieces to make some pillows and a cushion. </div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-Nr5lrKO_qFM/VKx_FtQ3WpI/AAAAAAAAGuc/zul-NVtfUcA/s640/blogger-image--391223799.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-Nr5lrKO_qFM/VKx_FtQ3WpI/AAAAAAAAGuc/zul-NVtfUcA/s640/blogger-image--391223799.jpg"></a></div>Next was the industrial shelving! We saw some great examples on Pinterest, so my hubby designed this set. We went to Home Depot and bought all the pipe! </div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-R8KT3dgulGQ/VKx-puSV0WI/AAAAAAAAGuE/0IXkxa9tEtU/s640/blogger-image-1052093166.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-R8KT3dgulGQ/VKx-puSV0WI/AAAAAAAAGuE/0IXkxa9tEtU/s640/blogger-image-1052093166.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I love how it turned out. I stained all the wood while hubby put the shelving together. I used Minwax gel stain in hickory. The blog, etsy, pinterest, etc. Well I decided today was the day. This was not my first choice, however since I am on day 3 of being sick I decided I had to do something while laying on the couch. I have no ambition for anything else! Coffee doesn't even taste good, thats always a sign that something is not right!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-didWRxH2rhw/VKIQs8fOawI/AAAAAAAAGr0/ISRCTLPM3DE/s1600/034d9627b2843330e60241e936345450.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-didWRxH2rhw/VKIQs8fOawI/AAAAAAAAGr0/ISRCTLPM3DE/s1600/034d9627b2843330e60241e936345450.jpg" height="320" width="228" /></a></div>
We are also literally right in the middle of my sons new bed room re-model and I am hoping that tomorrow is the day that gets done! My house is in shambles!<br />
<br />
So back to the re design! I knew I wanted fresh, clean and simple. I looked into having a blog designer do it but I really didn't want to spend that kind of money, bedroom re model took a big chunk!<br />
So I put my google search engine to work and taught myself how to do everything I needed!<br />
<br />
My Header was created in PSE using some digital papers. I cleaned things up & removed what was no longer relevant then added the things I knew I needed to have (long ago)! Who knew it was that easy to add a hovering PIN IT button! Google it! Step by step instructions!<br />

The one blog I have to give huge shout out to is <a href="http://www.greatfun4kidsblog.com/2011/09/blog-tips-your-own-social-media-buttons.html" target="_blank">Greatfun4kids</a> she has not only a tutorial on installing social media icons, she also has a variety of free icons you can use and seriously the easiest install instructions out there!<br />

I am not sure if pinterest is good or bad for when you are sick. Good because I get great new ideas. Bad because I am too miserable to do any of it! Here's to a better tomorrow!</div>
