Since I have had 2 surgery's this year, it is really no surprise to me that I have put on a little excess weight, 12 lbs of it to be exact, and I know, that is not much, but when you are only 5ft tall, 12 lbs really starts to show. None of my clothes fit right and I am not happy with how I look in most of them. I also know if I don't do something now, it will really get away from me and be even harder to loose.
So today is day 1, eating better and excercise. I went to sams and stocked up on healthy foods, and went for a bike ride tonight after work. It's a start, and I know each day will get a little bit easier! No more chips and top the tator while I sit & watch TV in the evening!
I will miss you top the tator...
I've never heard of top the tator, hmmm! Love the comic, I often feel like shooting my scale too! Good luck on your "healthy living" I can't say diet!
ReplyDeleteI'm having my 1st ever giveaway over at my blog, go on over and check it out!

I am fairly fit. I exercise regularly. Since I started blogging it has gone from 6 days a week to 4 days a week. I love to snack while on the computer which seems to be all the time now. Lately I can feel my clothes hugging my thighs way too much. I started eating better today too and am going back to my 6 days a week. I ran 3 miles last night at 10pm and I just got through with 3 more a little bit a go. Good luck with your goal. The eating will be the hardest part for me. Just tried ground turkey. I don't think I am a fan of it.
ReplyDeleteGood luck! I have gained about 60 lbs since I had my baby and I've had three surgeries in the past year so i know how you're feeling! I admire your motivation!!!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had a bike, such fun and great exercise!
ReplyDeleteThis cracked me up! I am blaming blogging on my widening behind and this roll thing. I'm not liking it at all. I do eat pretty healthy already. Dark chocolate and ice cream are my vises! Just need to move more. I did get on my stationary bike today. I wish you were my neighbor and could call me and yell at me to get on my bike! I need a drill sergeant!
ReplyDeleteMegan, you need to find a way to get some top the tator, it is the best chip dip ever!!! and it's good on baked potatoes too!:)
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone, eating right is the hardest part, and I am not a fan of excercise either! UGH!
I had a knee surgery this year also and I was already over weight before the surgery. It is amazing how quickly it sneeks up on you. Being aware is half the battle. Good luck on your quest for weight loss. Kathysue
ReplyDeleteI hear you!! 'Tis good to stop it now before it gains momentum. Weight will do that! Biking is a great exercise. I walk 50 minutes almost everyday. I still have a ways to go weight wise; but I am determined to carve it off!! Good luck on your new path.

I hear ya. One surger+one extreme sickness that required hospitalization=weight gain that I am not thrilled with.
ReplyDeleteYou will shed it in no time when we starting walking again!!! Don't be so hard on yourself, you look great!!! Have a good Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteGive yourself rewards! For every day I eat right according to my "plan" (which is healthy portions and no sweets right now) I earn a dollar toward a new outfit. For every pound I lose, I also earn a dollar...that way, when I reach my "target weight" I get some new clothes that I technically earned...
ReplyDeleteIf you add 1 tsp of onion powder & 1 tblsp of chives to fat-free sour cream you'll never miss top the tator again.
