Amazing!

Mike brought home this electric fireplace inset that he got for free. So last night he finally decided to build the mantel for it.
I always knew that my husband was a very gifted carpenter, but I am completely in awe of this fireplace surround that he built last night. Yeah that's right I said last night, he has this done in about 4 hours! He drew his own sketch, went to Home Depot to get his supplies, & started building it around 9pm, I remember him coming to bed shortly after 1am, and he said it was done!

I didn't see it until this morning, and I just can't stop looking at it! I still need to paint and glaze it, but i just had to post it, I am so proud of his work!

Mini Martha...

a friend of mine gave me that nickname years ago, and while I am no Martha Stewart, I do love to create! I have another craft show this weekend, and I have been busy making more fun things to sell! I saw this great idea for making magnets on another blog, and I promise, when I find these ideas I will start to write down where I saw them so I can give the proper credit! I apologize to the creative fellow blogger who inspired me with this fun project! Clear glass gems, cool scrapbook paper, clear glue and magnets! What a fun project!! The more vintage looking the paper the better!

I have been using a circle punch and then trimming down as needed.

Cool Vintage magnets!!!

Another fun project came from the latest issue of Martha Stewart Living. Needle felting!!! You use nedles and roving (un-spun wool)to create cute little animals! My fingers are very sore! The needles are super sharp, but I will say that I think I am addicted to this fun little project, the penguin below was my first attempt!

He is about 5 inches tall, I used polar fleece for his hat and scarf!
More fun with burlap bags! I sold most of my pillows at last weekends sale, so I had to make more! Theses are made from my recycled coffee bean bags! Great for decorating with!
I will be hosting a Holiday Open House at my Home the 1st week in December, more details to come soon, and after my sale, I will be updating my ETSY page with some of my creations!! Thanks for looking!

We sold lots of fun things and I am now busy this week making more for this coming weekend at Gnesen Community Center! That one is this Saturday from 9-2. Many Items show are still available, I would be happy to ship you something. I will be posting some on my ETSY store after this weekend's sale!

I had so much fun making these blocks! I would be happy to custom make you some to spell a name or a phrase, Blocks are $6 each, or if you buy 3 or more they are only $4 each!
Check out My Sister in Laws blog for a close up of her awesome recycled wool sweater mittens! Each one is made from an old wool sweater and they are all lined with thick polar fleece! They are a must have for everyone! and a steal at only $26 a pair!

Hoo Hoo

I must admit that I am totally into owls this year! I just started to collect them and have been adding them to my coffee bar! Now I am not collecting just any owl, they have to be CUTE! And the ones I have found so far I think are just adorable! I love the first one, he is from the new holiday line at Carribou Coffee! He makes me want to learn how to knit!

I can't even begin to tell you how excited I became last night when I came across my new blog background at Shabby Blogs.com! I may never change it!! Check out their site here, they have some great FREE backgrounds to choose from! They also have a bunch of buttons and blinkies that you can add to your page! Have fun, and if you spot any really cute owls, let me know!

Snickerdoodles

In my opinion it is the perfect cookie! Crunchy on the outside, chewing on the inside, and deliciously sweet with cinnamon!

I found the recipe online, it is delicious, enjoy!!!

Spruce up your Windows!

So I just have to say that when I first saw the challenge for tonight's Saturday Night Special over at Funky Junk, I wasn't that excited about window treatments, most of my windows just have a valance and blinds, and to me they are very boring, but then I started thinking....and I am now super excited about my window treatments, I decorated them inside and out!!! Thanks again Donna for the inspiration and the great challenge!!!!

The Garland is little rusty bells!!
My kitchen window over the sink.
This is an old door with a window...I made it into a shelf!
Another old window that I use to decorate with...
And this is not a great picture, but it is a fabulous old window I got for 2 bucks at an estate sale, that I have hanging over my kitchen island. I love to change it up every season!
