Wedding Day Photos

I was asked to take photos at a wedding this weekend, My sister in laws, sister was getting married!
I did not want to shoot everything, as I am far from professional! This is really just a fun hobby for me, so I agreed, but only if there was another photographer there, after all, its not like we could re-do the whole day if I messed up! So I went in with my new SLR camera and just took pictures all day! No pressure, no stress, it was great! We went down by the lake even though it was only 25 degrees out! But had fun getting some shots by the ice, and over looking the lake.

Carter getting busted with his 3rd piece of cake, but I can't blame him, it was delicious! The Exchange, no one does wedding cake better!

Daisies, Daydreams, & Antiques

I finally de-wintered my house, but realized I needed a fresh look for Spring! I went to Old Town Antiques, Target & then Daisies and Daydreams! I found exactly what I needed!

I got this great distressed frame from Target, the green speckled eggs, Bird & Nest from Daisies & Daydreams.

I found these pillars at Old town Antiques. The candles, rings, & pillow were from Daisy's!

I love Daisies & Daydreams!! If you have not been there, check it out, she has great home decor, for all year round and the best seasonal selection too! She also sells the BEST candles! The store is located on Haines RD by AT&T, and Brag Game Rights.

Could it really be...

SPRING????

So many signs out there, I know it will be here soon! The day I took most of these photos it was 55 degrees outside! But it did not last too long, we have to enjoy the warm days when we have then here! And until June they will be very hit or miss! So enjoy the warm days when you can, and in the mean time drink some coffee, be crafty and stay inside where it is always warm!

It was a great day for an afternoon walk!

Cancun...

Mike and I just returned from an amazing vacation!! Cancun was wonderful! We stayed at the Gran Caribe real resort, which was very nice, I highly recommend staying there, the price was great, and everything there was just what we were looking for! Temps in the upper 70's to low 80's all week. All the food and drink we could handle and best of all, lots of time to just relax! We played in the ocean and sat by the pool! I finally found time to read a book, and if anyone is looking for a really good book, Change of Heart by Jodi Picoult was truly one of the best books I have ever read! Enjoy the photos, I cant wait to scrapbook them! I bet I will be starting that book this weekend!

We had so much fun playing in the ocean waves!

Mango Tango anyone???

I watched this pelican all afternoon! I can not believe some of the photos I was able to get. He was diving for his dinner, really neat to watch!

Fun New Stuff!

My new stampin up stuff arrived over two weeks ago and I finally made some time to play! Here are a few fun cards I made, just to have on hand! You never know when you might need one, and who wants to run out and spend 5 bucks on a card these days! Besides making them is so much more fun! I love all the new stamps and papers that stampin up put out this season, the colors of the ink, card stock, & paper all match each other, and it makes it so easy to get a few cards made in no time!

Love you much stamp set, candy lane paper, cardstock, ink, & ribbon.

Sets used here: Cheep talk, trendy trees, Good morning sunshine paper, coordinating cardstock & Ink

I also used various brads, hardware, clips, markers & ribbon for fun little finishing touches. Stampin up has everything you need!
I Love this set!!! Thoughts & Prayers, it is perfect for get well or sympathy cards!

Spring Teaser

It was such a nice day here today! I think our high ended up being 39 degrees ABOVE zero!! Could spring be just around the corner? If winter was like this everday maybe we wouldn't all feel like flying south by mid January! So we made the most of the day and spent all day outside, the kids had so much fun playing on the ice down by the lake & I had a ton of fun playing with my new camera! Here are a few of my favorite shots!

Home Made Rub On's

I was asked...so here you go! I learned this trick a while ago on a message board, and I have used it a lot! It is very easy to do, you may have to play around to find a font that works well. I use one that is bold, and not really solid, it looks a little scratchy. It is also helpful to only do one line at a time, you may have to play around with this a few times before you put it directly on your page!

Type in word what you want to say, adjust your sizes & ink color accordingly, Make sure it looks exactly the way you would like it to on your page.

Select print, in the print preference menu select mirror image, this will reverse the image so it looks correct on your page! Unless you want your words backwards! :) Insert your transparency sheet. I use the protective sheet from my cricut adhesive mat! I do have to adjust my page size in the page set up menu so it will print correctly. It works great, otherwise any transparency will do, make sure you print on the smooth side, some have a rough side that is made for printing, but then your ink will dry to it! Go ahead and print your image!
Now this can be tricky! Very carefully place the ink side down on your page exactly where you want it, once its down, you can not move it, the ink will smear, so be sure to hold the transparency down firmly, and gently rub the image onto your page. Remove the transparency and wipe off the excess ink with a damp paper towel!
That is all there is to it! Here is my finished page, and the title didn't cost a thing! You also never have to worry about not having the right color, running out of letters, or it being the wrong size, you make it just what you need!!!
