Cupcake Addiction

I think I could really get into this hobby...Makin Cupcakes
I know I don't have enough other stuff going on in my life, 3 kids, full time job, etsy store, photography & scrapbooking just to name a few! But lately I have been drawn to cakes and cupcakes and have now had fun making some!
Here are my latest for one special little girl who is turning 4 tomorrow!

I had some fondant butterflies left over from the shower cupcakes I did over the weekend

I also used some edible pearls, and made some fun little tags that I made with my Stampin Up design studio software, punches, cricut & toothpicks.

I can't wait to bring them over to her tomorrow!
Just look at that adorable face! Happy Birthday sweet girl!

Baby Shower decor via pinterest!

Well I finally put some of my pinning to good use!
I hosted a bay shower for my SIL who will be giving me another Niece next Month, since I had all boys, I get giddy about preparing for another girl!

I Have found so many things on pinterest and made a bunch of them! First up, tissue paper pom poms. So cute and so easy to make!

Second, Vanilla Almond cupcakes and frosting I could eat a bowl of this frosting, it is really good. My friend helped me make the fondant butterflies, they were delicious! Tasted like candy!

How about a diaper tricycle! This was way easy and so fun to pick out all the coordinating girly stuff!

There are 50 diapers used in the wheels!

I found great punch recipe too.
And when we mixed it all up it turned pink! Perfect for the day!
Thanks Pinterest!

Burlap Spring Flowers

I don't know about you but I am ready to see some spring flowers, I am about 6 weeks early though, we are on the eve of our first major snowstorm for the season, so I am out of luck for a while! For now I thought I would make some fun spring burlap projects!
Here is a fun little Easter Bunny, I made him from burlap and some stuffing.

His eyes are little beads and the nose is hand stitched.
Then I made some flowers from recycled book pages and burlap. I had some fun making these.

I think they will be adorable in my new nieces room!
So those are my spring flowers for now!

Iced Coffee?!

While we were in Mexico, I was missing my daily Caribou Coffee. But I found that a little morning cappuccino did the trick. Then I met Carlos....

One day at lunch he had asked if I wanted a drink and I said "no thanks, just water". Once we were done eating he brought a large glass over to me and said " I made something special for you". I had no idea what it was until I took a sip, and then I was in love with Carlos.

It was an iced coffee with Kahlua....O.M.G, I never told him I was missing a real good cup of coffee, he just brought it to me. I think I drank it in about 15 seconds. It was so good. Needless to say I had a couple more throughout the week.
Now that we are back I thought I would try to make one, and it is just as good! Here is what you need:

1 shot of Espresso
2 Small Scoops vanilla Ice cream
3/4 C. Cold Milk
1 shot Kahlua
Ice

Add 2 scoops Ice Cream, Milk & Ice to tall glass.
Add hot espresso
Top with shot of Kahlua stir and ENJOY!
Thanks Carlos!

Back from Paradise!

My hubby and I just returned from a wonderful week long vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

The scenery was amazing!

We spent our time on the beach,

& at the pool with the swim up bar!

Happy Valentines Day!

There was great entertainment every night at the resort, but the Michael Jackson night was absolutely fabulous!!

We went on a whale watching tour, we saw 10-12 whales, dolphins, sea turtles, sea lions & pelicans!

I was very glad I brought my camera and big lens!

This was Julio, our daily waiter! Always made sure we had full glasses!

Just one of the infinity pools.

We found jelly fish all over the beach. Glad we never stepped on one!

We had a wonderful time, can't wait to go back!

Make a skirt from old pants! Here's how!!

So I saw an adorable skirt at Abercrombie, and of course it was $60, I could not pay that! So I made one today! I did buy some knit fabric and had some old lace at home. I made the base of the skirt from an old pair of pants.
I have not wore them in years, they were very sheer. Here's how to make the skirt!
Us a seam ripper and open up the crotch and part way down the legs.

Cut off the legs at the length you would like the skirt to be.
Fold over the front and back seams and sew in place. You will cover this area up with ruffle later, you just need a sold base to start with, it doesn't need to be perfect.
First I laid out the ruffles to see how I wanted it to be. I made all of the ruffles with my ruffler foot, but you could gather the fabric too to make ruffles.
I started sewing the ruffles on from the bottom and worked my way up.
Here it is! The pants had a fold over waist band, which was perfect to finish off the edge!!

Then I took an old pair of jeans and made a skirt form that as well. Then I added a small white ruffle to the bottom!

Now I have 2 fun new skirts that cost me almost nothing!!!
