One busy night!

With only 2 nights left before my holiday open house, I must finish my projects!
Tonight I took advantage of the fact that my hubby was home, and finally got him to help me make my magnetic memo boards, I got the windows in September!
I was able to make 3 different ones, I also made coordinating magnets for each, 4 with clips, and 4 bubble magnets.

And then I had to finish up my stockings to go with my ruffle tree skirts. I made 3 of each, cream & red.

Tomorrow night is the set up!! I will try to get some pictures up once I am all set to go!

Burlap & Ruffles

In my preparation for my upcoming open house, I decided to make a few new things. So tonight I made some tree skirts but added a little ruffle to the edge, I must say I LOVE my ruffler foot!

I think it adds a nice touch to the tree skirt, and I am sticking to my "recycled" theme here, the ruffles were made from old curtains!!

The candy cane ruffle is truly a one of a kind, this was a valance, so I have none left!!

What to make tomorrow?? Maybe some burlap and ruffle stockings perhaps????

Burlap and Rufffles

My Latest creation from my recycled burlap collection are these ruffled burlap tree pillows. All the accessories I used are this season new Stampin Up holiday line. I am bringing these to my craft sale this weekend, but should have some available on my ETSY store early next week. Ruffles
I didn't take step by step photos, but these were pretty easy to make. Cut your burlap in your desired size triangles, then on the outside piece you want to add your ruffles. I tore 2 strips of each of the fabrics,  gathering through the middle to make the ruffle. Then sew each ruffle to the pillow, alternating fabrics as you go.
Once that step was done I added my ribbon, lace, and tinsel. The trick here CLEAR thread. you can attach the element without seeing your stitching. It works great!!
Last step of embellishing is to place your buttons, and sew them on. Next you place your burlap, right sides together, sew leaving a small opening for turning and stuffing. Sew the seam shut, and your done!!

You can make several sizes and place them on a chair or a bench. The great thing about stampin up is that the accessories all coordinate! I am a SU distributor, so if you ever need supplies I would be happy to order for you.

Happy Sewing!!

A Christmas Elf came by to visit

It's my niece Jayda!
Isn't she the sweetest little girl! She will be 8 months next week, I can not believe how big she is getting!

I think in the morning we may go outside in play in all of the fresh new snow we are getting!
