Burlap and Rufffles

My Latest creation from my recycled burlap collection are these ruffled burlap tree pillows. All the accessories I used are this season new Stampin Up holiday line. I am bringing these to my craft sale this weekend, but should have some available on my ETSY store early next week. Ruffles
I didn't take step by step photos, but these were pretty easy to make. Cut your burlap in your desired size triangles, then on the outside piece you want to add your ruffles. I tore 2 strips of each of the fabrics,  gathering through the middle to make the ruffle. Then sew each ruffle to the pillow, alternating fabrics as you go.
Once that step was done I added my ribbon, lace, and tinsel. The trick here CLEAR thread. you can attach the element without seeing your stitching. It works great!!
Last step of embellishing is to place your buttons, and sew them on. Next you place your burlap, right sides together, sew leaving a small opening for turning and stuffing. Sew the seam shut, and your done!!

You can make several sizes and place them on a chair or a bench. The great thing about stampin up is that the accessories all coordinate! I am a SU distributor, so if you ever need supplies I would be happy to order for you.

Happy Sewing!!
