No 2 will be the same!

I had planned on making a quilt from these squares I had bought a while back, however, I have not been inspired to make a quilt or anything from the little 5x5 squares, unti tonight! I know this is no qulit, but a great shopping tote or book bag. I want to play around with applique a bit, and this was my first one. The fabric is so fun, by MODA of course!

Each leave is made with 2 different patterns sewn together. I also sewed pieces together to make the top bands and the back pocket.

I also made sure that the inside was loaded with pockets, 5 to be exact! All different sizes for all those little things you need to be able to grab quickly, cell phone, keys, lipstick, you get the idea!

I only have a few of each square, so I will be making different designs and appliques, so truly no 2 will be the same. This one is available now on my ETSY shop! Stay tunned for more desgins!! Have any fun applique ideas to share, I would love to hear them!!

Junky Garden Accents

This is my perennial garden. I went a little crazy this year filling it with all sorts of flowers, when I planted this back in the middle of May, I thought it was going to be perfect.
My mom, who owns a greenhouse, said that it was a little crowded. She was RIGHT. Here it looks fine, but many of the plants were very small.
So today we re-planted the entire thing.
I started at Snowman Hill, and she has the cutest fence posts and told me I should use them to hold my peonies up, that got me thinking....

It worked so good, I bought one for the other corner. We took out all of the brick, got a load pf black dirst and got to work digging. I added some fun little pieces I also bought at snowman hill today, she has the best stuff!!

Then I added some garden stuff that I stole from around my yard to finish it up, and now it looks like this!

The apple tree is the only thing that was not already in this garden, can you believe that?? Now maybe some of my plants will actually grow! They all have plenty of room, and will get lots of sunlight, well if we ever see the sun again...

The Skirty Purse

I designed this purse 2 nights ago. I have been bringing t with me everywhere, and every single person that has commented on it said "it looks just like a little skirt" So I decided that The Skirty Purse was a perfect name for my lateset desgn!! ( Thanks Megan)

There are 6 rows of ruffles on the front and back, I was even able to match the seams! I surprise myself sometimes! :) The inside is dark brown, with 3 pockets.
2 for keys, phone, etc, and one with a zipper. There is also a magnetic snap to keep it closed at the top!

The fabric is Amy Butler, I think I want to make about 10 things from this line!!! I just love it!!

I just added it to my Etsy shop, I only hav this one made so far, so I will need a couple of weeks to fill orders. Other designs and colors will be available as well!

Thanks for looking!!!

I added a few new links tonight on my left side bar, this is where I shop. I have a favorite store here in town, Hannah Johnson, she has the best stuff. I always try to buy from her first, but if there is something in particular I can't find there, I go online. So far, so good! Colors look just like they do online, shipping is super fast and I have had great customer service from all that I have listed.

So stop by these online stores and check them out! Might be best to keep that debit card in your purse though!!! Happy Shopping!

Don't you just love hydrangea's?

I do! I panted some this summer and cant wait for them to bloom! The one I am most excited about is called Lime Light, it is a bright green flower. In fact it has inspired my newest bag...The style is still the Emily, she seems to be my best seller. It's a nice size, not too big, not too small, and I have 2 pockets inside, one even has a zipper! I have been seening applique's everywhere lately, so between that and my bight green hydrangea tree, this is what I came up with....

Cute covered buttons, on a contrasting green and black back round.

Plenty of room inside, one zipper pocket, 2 other pockets for keys, cell phone, lip gloss, you know all the essentials!

And here she is, completed with hand appliqued hydrangea flower on the front!

Fun, fun!! Perfect for summer!
